Loving God
The Old Testament example found in Deuteronomy 6:5 and the New Testament example of Matthew 22:37 of loving God with all of our heart, soul, and mind is married together in the scripture, “We love because He first loved us” 1 John 4:19
Growing families
Understanding that we are at different places in our walk with the Lord, it’s important that we continue to increase our faith together in grace without judgment. Living life believing that we are better together, and that Christ bridges the gap of our differences. Whether in-person or online, we should remember the scripture found in Hebrews 10:25: not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
serving the kingdom
Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. Serving the Kingdom of God is best described as a two-fold venture. First, by being a community and establishing a local body of believers whose care and concern for one another reaches beyond the church’s walls and touches the family unit. When this occurs, the church grows beyond the community and becomes a family itself, thus setting them up for the second venture. Secondly, becoming a part of the community so that the locality’s particular needs where the church resides are helped or answered in a Christ-centered way. These together will position a local body to be a great representation of Christ’s love to the world.
